Background: Ram, aged 4.7, is an only child. The family moved from Karnataka to Chennai in 2021 seeking better employment opportunities. His parents now work as sanitation workers and, despite financial challenges, remain committed to his education.

Initial Challenges: Ram joined Diya Ghar’s Thiruneermalai Centre in July 2025. As a Kannada- and Telugu-speaking child unfamiliar with Tamil and English, he initially had limited vocabulary and interaction. Through stories, rhymes, circle time, and conversations, his teachers gradually encouraged him to communicate and participate.

Intervention: Ram has made steady progress and now participates confidently in classroom activities. He can read three-letter words in English, count up to 16, and independently complete Practical Life and Sensorial activities with increasing confidence.

Transformation: During a recent Parent-Teacher Meeting, Ram’s father shared that he has seen significant improvements in his communication, learning, and daily habits. Ram now confidently identifies animals, birds, and vehicles and has become more confident and independent. His growing confidence has made his family proud. Inspired by his curiosity and determination, Ram dreams of becoming a police officer.
